Longwood Gardens

April 10, 2025

If you’re looking for a romantic garden that enchants couples and photographers alike then look no further than Longwood Gardens. Nestled in Kennett Square Pennsylvania Longwood gardens offers 1,100 acres of a botanical paradise. This sets the stage for endless photo opportunities. Longwood Gardens is a popular spot for couples looking to get engagement photos and I find myself having the opportunity to shoot there several times a year.

Despite a persistent drizzle Emma and Evan took the weather in stride. While the majority of Longwood Gardens property is open to the elements there are several sheltered locations. These locations offer a hideaway from the rain. Gemma and Evans’ session offers a look at some of the most iconic spots on the property. There are also a couple lesser known areas that still offer the same stunning wow factor.

Longwoods resplendent tapestry is constantly changing with the seasons. One place I always love to make sure to get pictures in is the topiary gardens. An enchanting haven which offers a romantic ambiance which feels as though you are taking photos in a storybook. One caveat of the topiary gardens is that they are sometimes closed off to the public. Due to the limited accessibility it’s best to go into your session with an open mind. Each corner of Longwood Gardens offers it’s own captivating location so you won’t be disappointed.

One big thing to mention about Longwood Gardens is that they have changed their policies. When you want a session at Longwood you now need a permit in order to schedule your session. A staff member will also be accompanying all parties as they have their sessions. For more info on the new policy you can check their policy page here
