Venue

For your dreamy garden style wedding, Appleford Estate on the Main Line is the place to go. This 24 acre property in Villanova is the perfect location for an intimate wedding or a 200 person party. With use of the house as well as the gardens you are sure to have the most amazing and unique photos. 

Flatlays

Kim and Randal had such a stunning flatlay. It was clean, crisp and fruity! I loved getting to play around with different elements for this one. Kim and Randal also made sure I had ample time to make it perfect by sending me everything in the mail so that I could create the perfect photos. 

First look

I will of course always suggest a first look as it helps the day flow better and gives couples extra time to be together during their wedding day. A lot of couples opt for a completely private first look. When couples allow some friends or family to watch is when I can capture some extra special moments. During this first look both of their sisters watched from a nearby doorway and the rest of their loved ones from an upstairs window. It’s always special watching everyone’s raw emotions during these intimate moments. 

Candids

I always stress to couples that candids aren’t something that I can create for them. The moments have to come organically throughout the day. I know it can be hard to not stress about getting the perfect photos, but when you sit back and just take the time to be fully present in the day is when these moments occur. Kim and Randal had a day full of special candid moments. From her bridesmaids watching her get her makeup done, steaming the dress, family reactions, and of course ceremony. It was clear to see how much Kim and Randal are very loved by their family and friends. 

Couples portraits

I love when a couple is open to any and all prompts on their day. It allows me to get creative and make sure the gallery is as stunning as it can be. Kim and Randal came into portraits with an open mind and upbeat attitudes which reflects in all the photos. It also helps that Kim had absolutely flawless florals which only elevated the pictures even more. They also had a champagne pop which is always something that adds a special moment into any wedding day. 

Ceremony

If your vibe screams bridgerton secret garden Appleford Estate is the place to host. The gardens are absolutely enchanting. The lush background is a 10/10 and the lighting was as dreamy as could be. I always love when couples opt for an outdoor ceremony when the weather cooperates because it creates such an open and airy feel to the moment.

Cocktail hour

This is the first part of the day where a couple actually gets to talk with their guests. I was able to capture some adorable candids of Kim and Randal with their guests as they chatted about the day. This is also another perfect reason to have a first look. Most couples need to take couple portraits after the ceremony and it causes them to miss most of or all of cocktail hour. When you get to take your photos before it gives you more time for those candid moments everyone looks to have. 

Reception

The start of a reception is when a lot of formalities take place and those photos are always important but not always as memorable as couples portraits or ceremony. Kim and Randal had such sweet moments during the start of their reception that I would be remiss not to showcase them. From their captivating first dance to the emotional speeches and use of direct flash for cake photos. 

Dance floor

ICONIC! This is the only way I can describe the energy on the dance floor. Not only was everyone dancing and singing, they were all so happy and engaged. By the end of the night a lot of people are hungry again from dancing the night away. Kim and Randal were on top of that and made sure everyone left well fed by having Chick-Fil-A served on the dance floor. It was so fun watching everyone’s surprise when they were offered a sandwich.
