Venue

Fairmount Water Works is engulfed in arguably one of the most picturesque parts of Philadelphia. This venue is overlooked by the historic Philadelphia Museum of Art and looks out over the famous Boathouse Row. As if that wasn’t enough, Water Works is home to a gorgeous gazebo, ballroom, and a breathtaking deck where a lot of couples choose to have their ceremony.  It’s truly hard to pass on this unforgettable venue.

Getting ready

The getting ready portion of the day sets the tone for everything thats to follow. It’s not just about hair and makeup, it’s about the energy in the room. Between the music, laughter, and special little moments between a bride and her people it’s almost always a perfect time. In Jenna’s case she had the most supportive, joyful group of girls. That loving energy filtered through the rest of the day creating moments that can’t be posed.

Bridesmaids first look

A bridesmaid first look never fails to disappoint. The pure unfiltered joy, happy tears, cheers, and laughter are the perfect way to wrap up an already perfect morning. Sharing this moment with the girls who have been by your side long before the dress and details is something no bride will ever forget. Jenna’s bridesmaids were the best hype squad. It’s so clear that Jenna means so much to them and they were overjoyed to be celebrating her. They had me wishing I could join in on the fun!

Portraits

Jenna and Colt were so in their element during portraits. It honestly felt like the rest of the day just melted away for a bit. It’s always easy to see when a couple is just completely in love because it’s easy, natural, and makes my job the best in the world. They were also lucky to have such a beautiful day with lighting that enhanced them in the best way possible.

Reception

I couldn’t pick one or two things about their reception to talk about because the whole evening was incredible. The details were immaculate and nothing was overlooked, the tent was truly a fairytale. I always love capturing reactions during speeches. Jenna and Colt had such raw emotional reactions listening to their loved ones speeches. Jenna opted for a dress change during the night which is always a way to get the party started. The fun, sparkly always dresses make sure a bride is ready to be on the dance floor all night. And one moment that simply cannot be overlooked is when Colt decided to jump up on stage with the band. He was the life of the party up there on stage. I love when couples do fun things like that and make the day truly unforgettable!
