One year after their wedding, Catherine and Anthony scheduled an anniversary session at their venue Felina at Ridgewood. As a photographer this is always something I look forward to. Anniversary sessions are always super nostalgic for both the couple and myself. I love getting to listen to my couples recount their wedding as well as the first year of their marriage. There are a lot of reasons a couple might want to plan an anniversary session. I am here to list a couple and you can decide if it’s right for you! 

Professional photos

Some couples don’t have professional photos taken after their wedding. For some couples engagement photos and wedding photos are the only professional photos they have of each other. An anniversary session gives a couple a reason to get photos taken again. 

Date night

Couples usually use this night to have a date. Sometimes after getting married and life happens it’s harder to find time to get out just the two of you. An anniversary session is the perfect excuse to dress up and get out! After these sessions couples will tell me they are going to head to their favorite restaurant. Either way it’s the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time together.

Photos to pass on

Anniversary photos aren’t always just for a couple. A lot of couples get to pass these photos on to their kids. They can look back and see what their parents looked like before they were around to know them. These photos provide a glimpse into a couples love story that future generations can look back on and reminisce.
