Philadelphia Engagement Session

Engagement Session

Engagement sessions are always fun because it gives me the chance to meet the couple and get them comfortable in front of the camera. It is also the perfect time to get to know each other before the big day. During Taylor and Jordan’s session they told me about how they met through mutual friends while living in Rittenhouse Square and Center City. The story made the session extra special since we went to Rittenhouse Square and ended on Addison Street.

Rittenhouse Square

Chefs kiss to the soft glow of a summer evening in Rittenhouse Square. Between City Hall and the Merchants Exchange building Rittenhouse Square is sometimes overshadowed as an engagement session location. However, there is something peaceful and secluded about Rittenhouse that makes photos really stand out. The city can sometimes feel overwhelming and busy but Rittenhouse offers a small oasis where time slows down, even just a little.

Addison Street

Philadelphia is not short on history. Colonial era Addison Street with its brick homes and ginkgo trees is one of those magically historical places. After sunset the whole street gets a romantic glow because it is adorned with twinkling white lights. These lights stay up all year round and need to be specially ordered so that they are brighter and more energy efficient than other commercial lights. The surrounding homes all chip in money each year to make sure the lights get to continue on. This only makes the whole experience more magical. The Addison Street lights are one of those things that show what the city of brotherly love truly means.
