Rehearsal dinner

Every now and then a couple will ask me to be at their rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding. Caroline and Carson had me at theirs and i’m so happy I was. It was such a sweet evening and I felt honored to capture the giddiness of the night before the big day!

Getting ready

Getting ready photos are always such a fun part of a wedding day. They capture all those little moments that make the day feel special. Best friends all in one place. family helping you into your dress or tux, laughter and smiles everywhere you turn. I love the emotions and anticipation from everyone in the morning. For Caroline and Carson getting ready photos were absolutely perfect. You can see the wedding day glow on both of them which makes the photos pop!

Bridesmaid first look

A bridesmaid first look is already a heartwarming moment that perfectly captures the bond between a bride and her closest friends. Caroline took it a step further by giving each bridesmaid a personalized letter that they read after the initial look. This gesture added a personal touch to the moment making it even more special. The letters only added to the happy tears that were already flowing. It was a sweet gesture and I hope one that more brides incorporate when they opt for a bridesmaid first look.

Couples portraits

It’s as if Philly was trying to give us the perfect location for couples portraits when the merchants exchange was created. With it’s stunning architecture and charming detail it’s no wonder its become such a prominent location for photos. We then took some at Ballroom at the Ben which should never be overlooked for couples portraits because it was incredible. There is a staircase that is perfect for cozy photos, and the balcony for more dramatic photos. Caroline and Carson were both naturals which made it super easy to get the perfect shots!

Details

I was obsessed with this reception space. Caroline and Carson opted for elegance and warmth, pairing white florals with lots of candles. Ballroom at the Ben is also one of the few venues that allow real candles giving it that extra special twinkle. Surrounded by the extravagance that is this venue it flowed perfectly together. Each table was thoughtfully designed and there was a mix of long and round giving the space more depth.

Reception

This wedding offered up some of the most adorable reception photos. The first dance was enchanting, both Caroline and Carson were clearly having the best time just being together. Parents dances are always emotional and these ones were no exception. Not only were their parents involved they also included their siblings to make sure everyone had a special moment. Speeches are also a time when candid photos are easy to capture. I love the reactions of a couple listening to their favorite people give speeches. These moments are such special parts of a wedding day and it is so important to me to capture them as authentically as possible.
